Vietnamese exporters used the day to engage directly with Chinese trading houses sourcing agricultural goods, textiles and consumer electronics, while Chinese technology firms presented automation, logistics and payment solutions designed for Vietnam's small- and medium-sized manufacturers. The exchange surfaced concrete demand on both sides — from contract manufacturing capacity in northern Vietnam to last-mile delivery technology adapted for the Mekong region.
A central theme of the day was the role of cross-border e-commerce as the fastest growth channel for Vietnam's outbound trade with China. Speakers from VGEA, the Guangxi E-Commerce Association and the Hong Kong E-Commerce Development Council walked attendees through real cases where Vietnamese SMEs scaled from local supply to multi-country exports in under twelve months.
By the close of the event, eleven memoranda of understanding had been signed across logistics, marketplace listing, packaging design and joint marketing — covering an estimated USD 38 million in projected first-year trade volume. VGEA committed to publishing follow-up trade briefs each quarter and to organising a return delegation in 2025 focused specifically on Guangdong and Hainan markets.
For VGEA's leadership, the event reaffirmed a simple thesis: Vietnam–China commerce grows fastest when associations create the trust layer that lets individual companies meet, evaluate and contract with confidence. The 2024 edition is a foundation that 2025 events will build on — with deeper sector tracks, more matched delegations, and an emphasis on women-led and youth-led enterprises.
